How did you feel about your performance at the Combine:
I feel like I was prepared well. Exos and SKLZ rellay had me ready to go and get my wrist back. My biggest concern was having my wrist 100%. I wanted to be able to be comfortable with every drill. I wanted to prove that my wrist hadn't slowed me down because I wasn't able to catch footballs much lately due to being a cast and I feel like I proved that. My verticle, broad, shuttle was where it should be. Overall, the combine was a success, I was calm and confident and thats how I play on Saturdays and will be on Sunday.
Any time you are looking to improve on at your Pro Day?
Yeah, I wanted to redo my bench and I am considering that. I feel like I got cheated out a couple reps. Couldve had 15/16 but hey I might leave that alone. Another thing I want to do again is my verticle jump. I performed really well but I was curious to see what my third jump at the combine wouldve been, I feel like I couldve got a little higher. Other than that I'll just see what routes Trevone wants to run and what the scouts want me to do and go from there.
What teams have you met with so far? Certain teams showing more interest.
I have pretty much met with every team with formal/imformal meetings. Nothing too extensive, I think everyone has been showing the same interest. Questions have varied but no team has really stuck out so far.
Where would you rank yourself in this years WR class?
Im not the one to talk about "hey im #1 or #5" teams are going to go after what they need. Teams will pick off their needs, like if a team has two big bodied WRs already, someone like Corey Coleman could be a better fit than me.
I feel like I have abilities that others lack that I displayed at the combine. I think I am the most fluid reciever in the draft. My ball skills are undeniable. I also wanted to prove im fast and explosiveness and those traits I put on display at the combine.
Any NFL WR who you would compare your skillset too?
Yeah, two receievers I look up to and base my game off of. AJ Green and Dez Bryant. I love Dez's tenacity/passion for the game. But Personally, I feel my game mirrors AJ Greens a little more. In terms of body type, how he goes up and gets the ball, and his calmness during games. Someone who plays hard and is laid back like me.
Who is the best CB you faced while in college?
TCU CB Jason Verrett no doubt. Jason really helped me tremedously over the years in regards of being a WR. He gave me a different prespective, small things like im raising up out of breaks, im looking where im going and how my eyes are are telling him where I am taking my route. He was the best CB I faced because he made me better every single day.
If you were a NFL GM and you had to pick on QB this year who would it be?
Trevone Boykin, no question. Im not a QB coach or guru but Im a receiver and I caught so many passes from Trevone. I maybe caught 10 balls from him that werent spirals my whole career. The thing about Trevone he knows his recievers. He knows Kolby is a burner and will lay it out for him to run to. He knows he could throw the jump ball back shoulder throws to me and he did just that. If I could bring in any QB, I would bring in him.
Is there a part of your game you can improve on at the next level.
I want to keep being the best at catching the ball at it's highest point. The margin of error in NFL is much smaller than the college level so I can keep working on that. I'd like to work catching over the shoulder as well, thats something I could improve. Another thing is different releases and routes I havent run (double moves) while at TCU. I know I can run them and showed that at the combine that I can. But theres always room for improvement there.
What are you going to do with your first NFL Paycheck?
Get a car, nothing fancy, but something that will get me to point to A to paint B. And probably get my Momma a round trip somewhere and let her relax.
